SwitchDin and Industrias Services Group partner to maximise the long-term value of distributed energy assets
Australia has been remarkably good at putting solar on rooftops, more than 26GW of capacity and counting. What it hasn't done is build the operational culture to look after it. Too many systems are switched on and then left alone, drifting quietly until a problem forces attention. The earliest commercial installations are now old enough that this neglect is starting to show up on the balance sheet, and across the country's installed base, the aggregate liability is no longer trivial.
SwitchDin and Industrias Services Group are partnering to close that gap, combining SwitchDin's Energy Management Solution with Industrias' operations and maintenance capabilities, creating a more complete solution for customers seeking to improve both asset performance and financial returns.
“Our platform unlocks additional value across the fleet of customers while Industrias’ on-the-ground expertise sharpens what we can see and act on. Together we can support the emerging wave of asset owners moving into serious O&M, and show them the long-term value of getting monitoring, management and maintenance right from the start.”
The value runs in both directions. Industrias brings its on-the-ground O&M to SwitchDin's customers, particularly those where solar and storage are central to returns.
SwitchDin, in turn, unlocks new value across Industrias' fleet of asset owners. Its platform connects, controls and coordinates DER at scale, optimising the ROI of the solar and BESS infrastructure. This partnership opens a joint path to market for the ageing systems now moving into serious operations and maintenance.
That timing matters. O&M is hard, and asset owners increasingly recognise they don't want to carry it alone, that specialist maintenance partners add real value. Together, SwitchDin and Industrias can demystify the long term payoff of building monitoring, management and maintenance into new deployments from day one, rather than retrofitting it after years of neglect.
“The industry has spent years focusing on getting assets installed. The next challenge is ensuring those assets continue delivering what they were built to deliver. That’s where this partnership makes sense. Industrias brings the operational expertise required to keep systems performing safely and effectively, while SwitchDin provides the monitoring and energy management capabilities needed to maximise the value of those assets throughout their operational life.”
The collaboration is already underway, with the first joint project being delivered at a major retail site.
About SwitchDin
SwitchDin is an Australian energy technology company accelerating the transition to a more distributed, flexible and decarbonised energy system. As the orchestration layer for DERs, SwitchDin connects, controls and coordinates solar, battery, EV charging and other energy assets at scale.
Its vendor-agnostic solution provides a unified layer for monitoring, control and optimisation, enabling utilities, energy retailers, aggregators and commercial customers to maximise the value of their energy infrastructure. By combining real-time visibility, intelligent control and secure asset orchestration, SwitchDin helps customers improve operational performance, unlock new value streams and adapt to an increasingly dynamic energy market.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Sydney,, Australia, SwitchDin supports customers across utility, commercial and industrial energy applications, helping ensure energy infrastructure delivers the outcomes it was designed to achieve.
About Industrias Services Group
Industrias is an Australian tech-led services and management company specialising in maintenance-centric design for renewable energy infrastructure. The company works at the intersection of industrial design, electrical engineering, and facility management to address a problem the industry has largely chosen to ignore: what happens to solar assets after installation day. Backed by a network of more than 150 partners and drawing on a proprietary dataset spanning more than 4,000 installations, Industrias brings a data-driven rigour to solar performance that is rare outside of government research.
Industrias works with asset owners, developers, investors, and policymakers to close that gap, ensuring that Australia’s renewable infrastructure delivers on its promise across its full operational life.
