SwitchDin submission for the Victorian Government's voltage strategy for networks to reduce costs and improve solar hosting

Network costs are one of the main contributors to electricity prices and one of the most cost effective ways to put long term, downward pressure on electricity prices is to enable non-network solutions to compete with ‘poles and wires’.

That’s why SwitchDin strongly supports recommendations made in the recent Victorian Government Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Change (DEECA) Directions Paper on Voltage Management in Distribution Networks

Crucially for SwitchDin, we support DEECA’s recommendation that non-network parties should be able to “readily and affordably access low voltage network data to support the development of business cases to non-network solutions”.
